Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes your practice unique?

At Whole Self Psychiatry, we believe that mental health care should look at the whole person, not just a list of symptoms. Our practice integrates medication management with psychotherapy, lifestyle and behavioral interventions, and personalized exercise prescriptions to help you feel better and live healthier. Every treatment plan is tailored to your goals, and preferences, ensuring that care is both evidence-based and collaborative.

With deep expertise spanning psychiatry, psychotherapy, and exercise physiology, we bring a unique holistic lens to every encounter. Whether you need help fine-tuning medications, making meaningful lifestyle changes, or simply want a more thoughtful and thorough assessment, we’re here to guide you with compassion, skill, and a commitment to lasting well-being.

  • I've never seen a mental health provider before, what should I expect?

Your first visit is a collaborative, in-depth assessment designed to truly get to know you. We’ll explore your mental health history, past treatments, and current symptoms alongside your overall medical history and lifestyle. We’ll also talk about what’s worked for you before, what hasn’t, and any personal preferences you have when it comes to medication, therapy, and other supportive interventions.

This comprehensive, whole-person evaluation typically lasts 75–90 minutes. Our goal is to create a personalized plan that reflects your unique background, goals, and values.

  • Will my treatment plan include medication therapy?

Medication can be an important part of a personalized treatment plan, and we will discuss all options with you. Our approach is to prescribe only when clinically indicated, and always with careful attention to your full medical history, past experiences, and personal preferences. Our goal is to support you with the most effective and least burdensome treatment—whether that involves medication, therapy, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of all three.

If medication is part of your plan, we’ll monitor you closely and adjust as needed to ensure safety, minimize side effects, and help you feel your best.

  • What psychiatric conditions do you treat?

We care for adults facing a broad range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, and ADHD. We also work with patients who are navigating life transitions, relationship stressors, and emotional challenges that may not fit a specific diagnosis but still deserve compassionate support.

  • Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not. However, we do utilize a third party service that simplifies filing for out-of-network health insurance claims. So you can file with the click of a button.

We can also provide super bills.

  • What are your fees?

Please contact us for pricing information. Depending on what services you are seeking, we offer both encounter based and subscription based pricing.
